Welcome to my portfolio site. My name is Rafael Rodriguez. I attend the University of Texas at Arlington. I'm studying Communication Technology right now and I'm expecting to graduate in Summer 2016. My specialty is in web development / web design. I have 3 solid years of academic experience creating websites.
One thing I love to do (besides creating websites) is watch movies. One of my favorite genres is action/sci-fi. Another hobby of mine is online gaming with League of Legends being my go-to game right now.
I consider myself a master of useless skills like my ability to amaze people with my card tricks, solve Rubik's cubes, and do some skateboarding tricks.
I have a really outgoing personality and I can get along with just about anyone. If I seem like your type of person, scroll down and see what I can offer.
Below are the quickest and easiest way to contact and view my social media channels.
As stated above, my field of study is web development / web design. I work really well with the Adobe suite including Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Dreamweaver. I also have experience in SEO, multi-media production and social media strategy.
Some additional skills I'm beginning to become familiar with are XML, AJAX, DHTML, and MySQL. Take a look at some of the skills I know best below.
Below you can view some of my academic works I've created since I've started. More to follow soon.
My last project in my college career, I was tasked with making a fully functional website for a real client or organization. It had to have all elements previously learned from other projects like responsiveness, structure, and usability. It also had to include new elements like Dynamic HTML and AJAX.
This is currently my favorite website. It was my final project for my Digital Communication Management class. The primary use of this website was to exhibit our ability to understand back-end development using PHP and MySQL. It has a working log-in / log-out system for new and existing users to schedule an appointment.
Working with a partner on this project, we showed what kind of website the client could have. We optimized it for SEO and went for a clean and minimal approach. It's complete with reviews and an admin dashboard.
This was my final project for my multimedia production class. The goal was to incorporate various film techniques as well as execute proper editing procedures to produce a short clip about anything the student wanted. I chose to do a "day in the life" type of video.
I was tasked with making any kind of "How To" video. It had to be short and sweet, no longer than 20 seconds. If you want to know the secret to the trick, ask me.
